Glad you've taken the time to visit! My name is Bsoned (you may see Esoned in other places, though)!

So, a little about me...

I've been collecting vinyl since 2019, at first just trying to catch up on my favorite albums wherever I could catch a pressing. Nowadays, searching for vinyl for collection's sake has put some classic and groundbreaking records in front of me. Obscure releases from fantastic artists that I take joy in supporting.

Now, about the site...

I'm a collector, but I'm also a developer!

There's a handful of resources out there for cataloging and organizing collections like mine, but I wanted to build something from scratch. Something that reflects my personality. An evergreen project that I can sharpen my developing and web design skills.

The site uses Flask hooked up to a MySQL database on the backend, with Less for style experimentation (compiled to CSS in production), and some home-baked Javascript for the final touches.

In the past, I used Neo4j for my database, but the space requirements and somewhat cumbersome Cypher syntax made development a little less streamlined than I'd have liked. Was good while it lasted, though!
